All you got here is a guy talking about his work.

Know anyone on the cocktail party circuit who enjoys the guy doing that?
Neither do I. I promise to be brief & use pictures wherever possible.

Here, product design means the expression of an idea intended to be useful.

What you see here are digital products for which I was the product designer, which can mean different things to different people. Pencils, words, research, stickies, sketches, wireframes, comps and code are the means. Also required: a handful of people to work tirelessly together to bring the thing to life.

On to the work.

PostPost

The personal search tool for Twitter.

The people I follow on Twitter share wonderful things. Important things. It all moves too fast, though. As the search tool that returns spam-free, relevant content from the people you’re most connected to on Twitter, PostPost is the way to dive in to your stream without drowning.

  1. Start with good sources

PostPost search results come only from the people you follow, up to 150. The 150 are a blend of the people to whom you are most personally connected to, and a handful of others who are most globally connected.

  2. Facets make for fast finding

Results are presented most recent at the top, but you can quickly explore the content by 1) the people you follow and 2) the type of content the Tweet links to.

  3. Social is rich when it's relevant

And so it should be presented richly. PostPost previews links, photos & videos inline.

  4. Relevant content endures

Social seems noisy and ephemeral in interfaces that move too fast. The opposite is true in an interface focused exclusively on the valuable stuff that matters to you.

SpeedBilly

The local marketplace for new cars where you bypass the salesman.

Everyone loves a good deal, especially on a new car, but most of us would do just about anything to avoid negotiating with the salesman to get one. SpeedBilly is an online marketplace stocked with real prices on real cars at nearby dealers—guaranteed, final prices that users lock-in on the site before setting foot in the dealership.

  1. Emphasize the local marketplace

SpeedBilly isn't like other dotcoms that serve the world on day one. We are purpose-built to serve the Boston area. And that matters.

  2. You get a deal, not an email

When you fill out a form on SpeedBilly, you're locking in a price on a real car that you will soon take delivery of. You're not becoming a lead.

  3. Solve the problem first

We stripped away all the clutter—ads, content—you find on other car sites. SpeedBilly is focused entirely on you getting the best deal on the car you want from a nearby dealer.

  4. Don't hide

Part of our appeal is that we're local. We're ready to help every user with every deal.
